Tour Description

🌿 Hurulu Eco Park: Unlocking the Dry Zone’s Secret Passage 🐘
Step into the 10,000 hectares of enigmatic wilderness that serves as the evergreen heart of Sri Lanka’s dry zone ecosystem. Hurulu Eco Park is not merely a destination—it is a crucial artery in the island’s survival story.

šŸŒ‰ The Corridor of Giants
Unlike static national parks, Hurulu plays a dynamic, life-saving role: it is the sacred, temporary residence for the magnificent Sri Lankan elephant herds navigating the seasonal shifts between Minneriya and Kaudulla National Parks. Witnessing elephants here means observing them on their epic, ancestral migration—a vital crossroad during the dry and flooding seasons that guarantees the continuity of their species. These majestic giants are, deservedly, the dominant visual of the park.

🐈 A Tapestry of the Wild and the Elusive
The experience extends far beyond the elephants. Traverse an astonishing spectrum of landscapes, from impenetrable thick forests to sun-drenched, dense shrublands. Keep your eyes peeled for the park’s shyer residents: the elusive Leopard, the tiny and rare Rusty Spotted Cat, and the slow-moving charm of the Star Tortoise. Above, the sky is patrolled by Parrots and Hawks, while the forest floor is marked by the vibrant hues of the Jungle Fowl—a genuine feast of sights for the dedicated wildlife enthusiast.

šŸ’§ The Luminous Heart
At the very core of this protective sanctuary lies the scenic Hurulu New Reservoir. This shimmering body of water is the lifeblood of the park, drawing phenomenal wildlife sightings to its edges, particularly as the day cools. Venture into Hurulu to explore its depth and discover the pivotal role this forest plays in sustaining life in Sri Lanka.

Get picked up by your experienced jeep safari driver at 07.00AM -11.00AM from your hotel for an unforgettable safari experience. This adventure offers the perfect opportunity to explore the national park's stunning wildlife and serene landscapes.
